WASHINGTON, DC -- Change to Win executive director Chris Chafe issued the following statement in response to today's New York Times piece on the Employee Free Choice Act.
"The freedom to choose to join a union is essential to recovering our nation's economy, rebuilding the middle class and renewing the American Dream for all of America's workers. Majority sign-up remains one of the simplest and most effective ways to give workers a voice on the job and our support for it is undiminished. While the Employee Free Choice Act continues to work its way through the many steps of our legislative process to iron out details, we remain optimistic that there will be strong labor law reform this year that ensures workers have a fair path to choose to form a union free of intimidation and harassment."
