WASHINGTON, D.C. – The following is a statement from Change to Win chair Anna Burger regarding presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama’s announcement today of Senator Joe Biden as his running mate for the 2008 election.

"Change to Win members and leaders are excited to see Senator Biden added to a winning Obama team. Joe Biden is a great choice for American workers and labor. He was raised in a hard working family and has always led with the values and work ethic that he learned growing up in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Joe Biden has been a friend to working Americans throughout his public life, standing up and fighting alongside us for the right to organize, for living wages, for family and medical leave, for safe workplaces, and for a strong social security system.
