Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Chicago Hilton
Chicago, IL
The American Dream is the most powerful and universal expression of the hopes and aspirations of working families in the United States. The Dream is about recognition for hard work and personal responsibility. It is the shared value that defines our country, and encompasses faith in ourselves and our future.
On September 25, nearly 1000 delegates, allies and guests representing the seven Change to Win unions came together at the Chicago Hilton in Chicago, Illinois, for the 2nd Biennial Convention.
Resolutions
Two resolutions were considered by the delegates; both were passed by unanimous consent:
Candidate Forum
The three leading Democratic Presidential candidates -- Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama and former Sen. John Edwards -- participated in a candidate forum at the convention, where they shared their thoughts about the future of the American Dream and what they plan to do to ensure that it is available for generations to come.
