"Battle in Seattle" Opens Today

I wrote last month about the upcoming release of an important motion picture — “Battle in Seattle” — which tells the story of the 1999 Seattle WTO protests. Here’s the trailer:

So I figured today would be a good time to remind you about it, since it’s opening today for limited release, with wider release planned for the weeks to come. And if it’s not scheduled to open in your town, the producers have organized a cool “theater takeover” program you can use to organize your community to get it shown there. Director Stuart Townsend has also released a special letter to union members (PDF) explaining why he made the movie and how you can help it get distributed.

Learn more, including showtimes and theater takeover info, on the movie’s official site.
