Who is Stephen J. Cabot?
If you ask the Web site of his consultancy, the “Cabot Institute for Labor Relations”, it will tell you he is
one of the foremost labor - management relations and employment law experts in North America. Mr. Cabot exclusively represents management in all facets of labor/management relations. As a former leading labor law lawyer he has represented companies from large Fortune 500 corporations to small entrepreneurial enterprises…
Steve Cabot has dedicated his career to creating a more positive work environment in companies of all sizes and in all sectors of the economy, even in the face of entrenched union opposition and government intrusion. Nationally renowned as a strong proponent of union-avoidance strategies, and through his wealth of knowledge and experience throughout the United States, Steve Cabot has developed and applied specific skills that he applies to labor/management issues.
Anyone who follows the buzzwords of corporate America knows what “exclusively represents management” and “proponent of union-avoidance strategies” mean — he’s a union-buster for hire.
What kind of person would put a perfectly good law degree to use keeping working men and women from achieving the American Dream? Turns out, the same kind of person who would defraud his clients to the tune of six figures:
Veteran Philadelphia labor and employment lawyer Stephen Cabot has surrendered his license to practice law after admitting that he could not defend himself against charges that he defrauded one of his former firms out of $133,600, according to a Pennsylvania Supreme Court order.
Cabot was accused of being reimbursed for business trips he never took.
Cabot was charged by the Disciplinary Board of the state Supreme Court in January 2007 with conspiring with a travel agent at Elkins Park, Pa.-based Rubinsohn Travel to defraud Philadelphia’s Harvey Pennington firm. The scheme took place between January 2000 and May 2004, during which time Cabot submitted 69 different reimbursement claims for airline tickets never actually purchased, the Disciplinary Board’s petition said…
In a June 16 resignation letter to the court, Cabot admitted that the charges in the petition were true and that he “could not successfully defend himself.”
What is it the kids always say about karma again? Oh, right.

Freaking-A!
Does this mean that he can't practice law anywhere? Or just in PA? And because he's no longer a lawyer, doesn't mean he won't continue to sell his anti-unionism to the highest bidder. Which would be no surprise.
