The last few weeks have seen a slew of interesting new reports that speak directly to the prospects workers have of achieving the American Dream. Here's just a few:
- "Beyond Justice" by Scott Lilly at the Center for American Progress is an in-depth look at how the Bush Administration has perverted the Labor Department into a partisan tool to prevent workers from joining together in unions;
- Jared Bernstein at the Economic Policy Institute crunches the latest numbers on household incomes from the Congressional Budget Office and finds an unprecedented increase in income inequality;
- At Demos, Jennifer Wheary, Thomas M. Shapiro and Tamara Draut take a look at the financial security of middle-class families and find two out of three of them are either borderline or at risk of falling out of the middle class altogether;
- Paul Fronstin at the Employee Benefit Research Institute asks employers about the future of their health benefit plans and finds, while they are not abandoning their plans yet, they are increasingly shifting costs onto employees and calling for change in the system.

These roundups are very helpful. I have worked to do one each week at Union Review, where the Round Up has its own page. I welcome you to come by and blog on our site when you can.
