Listen to the Walmart Workers Going on Strike, they're right!

It's pretty clear who comes first at Walmart and it's not their associates or their shareholders. With sales growth down and Walmart associates seeing low wages and hours cut, it's astonishing executive pay hasn't been affected. Mary Pat Tifft, longtime Walmart shareholder as well as employee said, “Walmart associates are having their hours cut because of declining sales but executives are still getting their bonuses. It’s ridiculous that they can keep receiving their compensation because they keep moving the numbers around."

We are still scratching our heads about the President's visit to Walmart this week. President Obama visited the nation's largest and worst employers. The contradicting part is that he chose Walmart to praise their environmental role when there are so many better examples of environmentally friendly businesses than one that drives down wages and discriminates against women.

A better place for the President to visit is Vermont! Vermont is the latest state to approve a minimum wage hike. On Saturday, Vermont lawmakers passed a bill that will raise wages from $8.73 to $10.50 by 2018. "We're raising the minimum wage higher...joining a growing number of states nationwide that are moving on their own in the face of congressional inaction," Gov. Peter Shumlin said.
