Strategic Researcher, Campaigns for Corporate Social Responsibility (Seattle)

The Change to Win labor federation is seeking a Strategic Researcher in Seattle to research and develop strategy for a campaign to win justice for workers in – and communities affected by- the port trucking industry at the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma. Strategic researchers will conduct in depth research and analysis and formulate strategies to help win corporate reform and accountability. Change to Win is a dynamic coalition of 7 of North America's most progressive labor unions and a leading force for social, racial and economic justice in our country today. Change to Win supports campaigns that challenge America’s largest corporations to take responsibility for how their business practices impact working families and their communities.

This campaign seeks to:

  • Achieve economic justice for more than 1,500 low-wage, mostly immigrant truck drivers in the Pacific Northwest without whom global trade could not take place;
  • Achieve environmental justice for people who live around the Ports and along associated goods movement corridors ;
  • Link efforts with a national program to achieve similar changes at all other major ports across the country

Strategic Research Analysts will be responsible for performing in-depth corporate research using a variety of public and private sources, analyzing and interpreting industry, regulatory and financial data, and working with campaign leadership to develop and execute tactics and strategies. Travel will be required.

Job Qualifications:

  • BA degree or higher (coursework in economics, statistics, financial analysis or law)
  • Experience conducting financial and corporate research.
  • Strong technical research skills.
  • Familiarity with database software.
  • Excellent writing ability.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytic and people skills.
  • Experience with financial analysis or financial statements.
  • Strong commitment to progressive social change and activist experience.
  • Previous campaign experience a plus.
  • Access to a car or other vehicle.
