The Partnership for Working Families is a national non-profit organization that helps unions and community organizations come together regionally to develop innovative strategies to reshape their local economies, and to ensure that development benefits low wage workers and their communities. We emphasize the creation of high quality jobs, affordable housing, environmental health, and career pipelines for shared prosperity. We are seeking a full-time policy & research analyst for our “Inland Empire” project based in the San Bernardino/Riverside area.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive and efficient research with a variety of written and human sources to provide quantitative and qualitative information on government agencies, development projects, companies, industries, organizations, etc.
- Prepare well-written internal memos and external materials in support of progressive coalition and campaign efforts.
- Oversee production of reports and publications, & do other communications work
- Work with supervisor and senior staff to plan, manage, and execute all aspects of the research plan for this project.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice.
- Capacity to utilize a wide array of research methods, including but not limited to: internet searches, public information requests, government reports, telephone inquiries and key informant interviews.
- Interest fighting poverty through local government policy
- Background in planning, policy, land use, development processes, construction and/or retail industry, with interest in fighting poverty through local government policy.
- Quick learner with strong critical thinking skills; ability to analyze complex information.
- Ability to successfully work in a team and independently.
- Excellent computer skills, experience with spreadsheets, databases and presentations.
- Investigative and/or strategic research experience or organizing with a union or community group preferred.
