The Partnership for Working Families is a national non-profit organization that helps unions and community organizations come together regionally to develop innovative strategies to reshape their local economies, and to ensure that development benefits low wage workers and their communities. We emphasize the creation of high quality jobs, affordable housing, environmental health, and career pipelines for shared prosperity.

Job Description

We are seeking an executive director to spearhead our “Inland Empire” project based in the San Bernardino/Riverside area. This person will work with a wide range of unions and other social and economic justice organizations and foundations, as well as with leading researchers, organizers and policymakers in our field.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with advisory board to determine vision and direction for the organization
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with labor, community partners & political allies around issues that benefit the lives of working families
  • Develop and lead a strong, motivated and focused staff team
  • Implement clear organizational and campaign goals
  • Ensure the development of a fundraising plan

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in labor, community, political or faith-based organizing
  • Prior positive relationships with organizations based in the Inland Empire
  • Demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice.
  • Familiarity and experience with the labor movement
  • Strong creative strategic thinking skills.
  • Background in planning, policy, land use, development processes, construction and/or retail industry
  • Staff management and fundraising experience
  • Bi-lingual
