Communications Coordinator: Green Jobs Campaign

Change to Win seeks a Communications Coordinator to work on a joint initiative with the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA!) to build a high-road residential energy efficiency industry that creates family-supporting jobs and career opportunities for residents of low-income communities.

Change to Win is currently recruiting experienced field operatives, research analysts, and communications and business development professionals to support groundbreaking campaigns to organize workers in emerging green industries and help realize President Obama’s vision of a clean energy economy that works for everyone.

The Communications Coordinator will work closely with campaign staff, the LiUNA! Communications Department, and allies (including Sierra Club, Partnership for Working Families, Green for All,  Center for American Progress, Blue-Green Alliance, and Apollo Alliance) to develop and execute an aggressive plan to promote LiUNA! high-road weatherization model to key decision- and opinion-makers.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with LiUNA! Communications Department to assess and develop plans to address full set of campaign communications challenges, opportunities and needs
  • Design and manage a system to track, organize and disseminate relevant campaign news and stories to support local and national campaign activities and maximize campaign visibility
  • Design plans to deliver effective messages to targeted decision- and opinion-makers
  • Produce and manage production of written and other campaign material
  • Provide staff support for national and local campaign activities as needed
  • Travel will be required

Job Qualifications:

  • Extensive campaign communications experience including leadership role in implementation of comprehensive communications strategies to support national or multi-state campaigns
  • A track record of successful work in complex campaign environments that require the applicant to build strong professional relationships with diverse stakeholders and align potentially divergent interests
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent strategic thinking and people skills
  • Strong commitment to social justice and to working as a team player
