CtW Investment Group: Corporate Governance/Accountability Coordinators

The CtW Investment Group and affiliated unions are seeking Corporate Accountability Coordinators to protect worker retirement fund beneficiaries’ economic interests in the financial markets by creating an effective voice for corporate accountability. The Corporate Accountability Coordinators will be based in Washington, DC. Change to Win (CtW) is a federation of seven of North America’s fastest growing and most diverse labor unions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working together with union pension funds to enhance corporate governance by ensuring independent and accountable directors, reasonable executive compensation, and sound environmental, human resource, and other business policies;
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative research including financial analysis, industry, corporate and issue research;
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with pension fund trustees and staff, as well as other institutional shareholders and the broader socially responsible investment community;
  • Advocating for effective regulatory reforms to strengthen capital stewardship and enhance the integrity of the global financial market;
  • Helping to coordinate fund best practices around asset selection, service provider accountability and related issues.

Qualifications:

An advanced degree in finance, economics or business. Experience with corporate transactions, corporate governance issues, investment banking, community development finance, or business strategies a plus. Excellent writing, political and organizational skills, including ability to work with pension fund trustees and service providers. A strong commitment to social justice.
