Campaign Community Organizing Coordinators (Boston/LA)

Change to Win is seeking Community Organizing Coordinators to support a national campaign. Community Organizing Coordinators are needed in Boston and Los Angeles. The Community Coordinator is responsible for representing the campaign in the local community; building political and community support for workplace, corporate and legislative reform; to act in a leadership role with respect to campaign staff and local community, political and labor leaders; and to implement plans to mobilize workers, community members and other potential supporters.

Change to Win is a strong and dynamic federation of 7 of North America’s fastest growing and most diverse labor unions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate community and political outreach and mobilization;
  • Build community, political, religious support for campaign;
  • Develop functioning and lasting coalitions with supporters and allies;
  • Assist in planning campaign strategies and tactics;
  • Plan and execute large-scale mobilizations including demonstrations, pickets and media events;
  • Design and implement staff and member training.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and proven success at planning and implementing strategic community support for social justice advocacy campaigns.
  • Previous success working with immigrants-rights, labor, or other social justice organizations is required.
  • Communicate effectively in one-on-one and group settings, both verbally and in writing; proven presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze key and timely community issues and sensitive political situations.
  • Ability to work independently to plan and carry out goals and timetables.
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of proven leadership and judgment.
  • Knowledge of targeted region/proven contacts in region.
  • Spanish language a plus.
