Diversity

The labor movement is strongest when it unites and empowers all working people and reflects our diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation and other factors at all levels. Unity that builds on diversity is particularly urgent today as all working people are facing attacks on our rights and living standards.

We are committed to ensuring diversity in all of the mainstream functions and decision-making processes of our movement by establishing standards, timetables, and accountability measures to ensure that the diversity of our membership is reflected in membership participation, elected leadership, staff, training opportunities, event speakers, and conventions and other decision-making bodies.
